Making a change !

At age 5, 3 days after my birthday I could hear my dad downstairs saying,
"Ok I'm about to get her dressed."
I knew I was the only one he could be talking about because I was the only one he would have to help get dressed. I ran into my room well the room I shared with my "princess" of a sister.
"I'm about to go somewhere," I told her.
"How do you know that?"she asked.
"Because, I heard daddy say it,"I said.
"Well I don't care, I'm busy anyways," she said.
"You're only doing your hair", I said.
"O MY GOD GET OUT," she screamed.
By the time I was walking out the room my dad was coming upstairs telling me to get dressed, because my god father was taking me to get my birthday present. I ran into my room ignoring all my sister's smart comments.
"you're messing up my room,"
"Little girl get out."
"What is your problem?"
"It's not even that serious."
All her comments went in one ear and out the other. I kept searching for my clothes.
She screamed,"Daddy come get this girl."
I'm the baby I never understood why she thought I could get into trouble. My dad walked into the room.
"He's outside," he said.
"Ok I'm coming"
I threw on my clothes and dashed for the front door. I knew this was going to be good besides I was his only god child and he had no children of his own. I got into his car and he says,
"Hey baby girl"
I smiled and said, "Hey"
My god father bought me every new Elmo that had came out and I was sure he was buying me the new one, that had just came out. We pulled up to Toys R Us and walked into the store. As soon as I walked in a big blue poster caught my eyes the word new stood out in its bright yellow letters. It was the new robot animals.
"That's what I want," I said pointing at the poster.
"Ok,"he said.
I walked isle and grabbed both a dog and cat robot. He bought them both and I walked out the store with the biggest smile on my face. My birthday had been made.

Peace and quiet !

The day started off slowly, the sun dragging itself across the sky, moving at the pace off a large turtle. My day was going to be uneventful, or at least I thought it was. I woke up to no sound in my house. All of a sudden I could hear the door slam, and then footsteps. I knew it could be no one else, but my sister, so I didn’t even turn over in bed. I just lay there, motionless, waiting for an excuse to get up. All of a sudden she opened my door and jumped in my bed.
“Get up,” she said, “it’s too late for you to still be in bed.”
“Get out,” I replied as I threw my favorite colored pillow at her head.
It was a small sacrifice to make for the silence I so appreciated. She continued to shake my bed in an attempt to make me get up. I pushed her and walked out the room to find a place to myself. It was too early to be annoyed.
“So I guess you don’t want to go driving?” she asked.
All of a sudden I was fully awake and energized.
“Of course I do,” I said, “I’ve been waiting for you to ask all day.”
I got dressed so quickly I’m sure even an Olympic track star would have been amazed at my speed.
As I walked outside, the sun shot into my eyes. I was blinded for a split second, but that wasn’t going to stop me from getting in that ca and getting my first chance at driving. I figured it would go like how it does in the movies. You know like fast and furious and all those other racing movies. “Make sure you take it real slow,” my sister cautioned me, “cars are pretty sensitive and u shouldn’t put your foot all the way down on the pedal.”
I completely ignored her because Love Sosa” by ChiefKeef was on the radio and I was too turnt upI put the key in the ignition and started up the car. I was intending to take things very slow. In fact I pulled out so nicely that I impressed everyone on the block. I was the best driver in the world at my age. What really happened though was I stepped on the gas to hard and ended up running the car up on the curb. Luckily there were only a couple scratches, nothing that couldn’t be fixed with a quick trip to a car shop.
“Are you mad at me?” I asked my sister.
She didn’t reply, she just stomped out the car, slammed the door, and told me to get out and go in the house. I don’t think she was that mad. She really didn’t talk to me that much the rest of the day. I’m just glad I got the silence I had been trying to gain the whole day. In the end, I got the best nap of my life.
